AGENDA ITEM: Capital Purchase -Requested Action: Authorize purchase of a rotary
laser to set grades with funding through the 2008 budget

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: PW's staff is requesting to purchase a rotary laser for setting
grades for storm water projects, street projects, park projects, and utility projects. This will allow staff to
complete small projects in-house and have a cost savings of $88.00 per hour to have these shots hired out.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: The funds would be taken from streets/parks/storm water/ water
and sewer minor equipment line items in the budget. The cost would not exceed $1,100.
