Re: September Monthly Report
Attached you will find the police activity report for the month of September. There
were 287 reported incidents during the month of September. This compares with
222 reported incidents in 2007 and 267 reported incidents in 2006.
Activity in the police department has been very busy this past month. As you can
see by the activity report, there has been an increase in alcohol related violations.
We have also seen an increase in property crimes such as vandalism and damage to
property. Homecoming this year was well attended and kept us very busy. As you
are aware, we had a significant about of damage done that evening. Both the college
and Tri County Crime Stoppers have offered rewards for information.
We did training this month with our new simunition guns. They proved very helpful
in our training in traffic stops and high risk traffic stops. We had to borrow some
.38 cal. weapons from the Stearns County Sheriff s Office for this training. As I
stated in the past we are attempting to work together so that equipment can be
shared.
The SIJV is finished and ready for service. Although there are a few small items
that are needed, the vehicle can be used on patrol. We will have it at the Safety Fair
today at the fire hall.
