AGENDA ITEM: Surplus Property -Requested Action: Declare the VHF radio
equipment surplus, offering the sale through sealed bid.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Since purchasing the 800 mhz radio equipment we have no need for
the old VHF radio equipment. The surplus equipment would include:
6 Motorola HT 1250 radios with chargers and speaker mic's
Motorola HT 1000 Radios with chargers and speaker mic's
Radio Remotes
Mobile radio and power pac
This equipment is of no use to the City since the conversion. Communities that do not have the 800
mhz radio system would be interested in purchasing the equipment. When the Fire Department listed
their radio system as surplus the City received a couple of bids from consignment vendors as they turn
around and resell the equipment.
We are proposing to advertise the equipment through municipal publications that reach other
departments and the vendors. Preference will be given to bidders purchasing all the equipment.
We are in the process of inventorying the Maintenance Department and will include their equipment for
resale as well.
