PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: At the last meeting the Council discussed term limits and had some of
the area Cities that utilize term limit. The Council requested additional information as to how they are
managed. See background information.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

2 consecutive ~-year terms; can reapply after a year gap
Application is submitted for each reappointment (application is on their website)
St. Cloud's teen limits are for the Mayoral appts.
Sauk. Rapids
3 consecutive 3-year terms; no allowance for gaps and reapplying -automatic renewal
HRA serves 5-year terms
No reapplication if submit letter to Mayor stating interest to continue on a board
Bartell
2 consecutive 3-year terms; can. reapply after a year gap
Application is submitted for each reappointment
