Re: December Monthly Report
Attached your will find the activity report for the month of December. There were
202 reported incidents during the month of December. This compares with 175
reported incidents in 2007 and 201 reported incidents in 2006.
Looking over the activity report it appears that this month was for the most part a
quiet one. One number that is still up is the number of underage drinkers that we are
arresting. This number concerns me and we are looking at this along with the two
colleges to see what can be done. Motorist assists along with assists to the county
was a number that also showed an increase. This is due I believe in a large part to
the weather and road conditions. We have a lot of winter to go and it seems it is
going to be wet and cold.
We have put the Yukon to good use since we have had all the snow. The officers
appreciate having a vehicle that can get them through the snow and ice. This I feel
was a good investment and we here at the police department are appreciating all the
council did to make this happen.
We will be starting our semiannual training in first responder first aid in January.
This is 24 hours of training that includes blood borne pathogens and hazmat training
which is required yearly.
