St. Joseph, MN 56374 (320) 363-1262 February 22,2008 City of St. Joseph 25 N. College Ave. St. Joseph, MN 56374 To Whom It May Concern: Attached are checks from the St. Joseph Lions Club which total $10,000.00. This is the remaining amount from an initial commitment of $45,000 made in 2002 towards the College Avenue street beautification project. We appreciate your patience in this process. At the time of the commitment, the club had hoped to use proceeds from our gambling to finalize the commitment. Since 2002, our gambling proceeds have declined significantly. We supplemented this fmal payment with proceeds from our project account. Our project account has been bolstered in recent years by the addition of several additional club work functions including numerous brat sales at the St. Joseph Meat Market. We appreciate your support of the recent decision to allow us to continue to use signage to promote our brat sales. As gambling potentially becomes a more questionable source of funding for our club's charitable efforts in the future, we hope to have continued success in our fund-raising projects.
