AGENDA ITEM: Capital Expenditures -The purchase of a 14' mower deck and
upgrade the hard drive space for the main server.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The Council has previously issued equipment certificates for the
purchase of capital equipment.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Public Works Director is requesting authorization to purchase a 14'
mower deck to add efficiencies for the Public Works Department. The mower has twice the capacity of
the existing mowers allowing staff to complete mowing quicker. This equipment was not originally part
of the equipment certificate, but the Salt/Sand Shed has come in below budget allowing for the
purchase of the mower deck.
The equipment certificate did include a technology piece and we need to increase the hard drive space.
The hard drive is less than 4 GB. We have enough left in the technology budget to add the space. Since
the server will not be available during this upgrade, we are proposing to complete the work on a
weekend and the price quote includes such.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $ 11,275 mower deck; $ 2,500 for the Hard Drive space
