HomeMy WebLinkAbout[00] Notes to CouncilNotes to the Council .................................... Human Rights Efforts Just a reminder that there may be interested persons in attendance at the Council meeting requesting reconsideration of the Human Rights Efforts. This matter can only be placed back on the agenda for consideration by a motion of the Council authorizing such. Roberts Rules Revised indicate that the motion must be made by a member on the prevailing side of the original motion. In that case the motion to reconsider should be made by Rassier, Wick or Schultz. Regardless a motion is required and must pass by a majority vote. Minutes I will forward the two remaining minute sets early next week. Update on Studies I will have an update on the two corridor studies on Thursday evening. The North east/west PMT group met last week to continue moving through the environmental process. We are working on setting up a staff meeting regarding Field Street with the consultant and APO to discuss the status and next steps. LELS Grievance I have received notice from LELS that they are taking the grievance matter to Arbitration. I have already received the list of Arbitrators and one will be selected next week. This process should move along fairly quickly. The process involves the City Attorney and myself along with the LELS Business Agent and Union Steward. Each side presents their case and the arbitrator makes a decision. Weed Notices During this past week over 100 weed notices were mailed to property owners and we have also been working on the existing development agreements to see how we can help the vacant lots to be manicured. In addition we are sending a notice to the Graceview Developers requesting they clean up and fill the holes that have been left. The holes are collecting debris. On the same note we are sending Ted Schmid a letter that Avon Lumber One needs to either execute the DA amendment for 15"' Avenue or begin planning for the construction. As we have information we will update you. Sales Tax Committee The St. Joseph Chamber has appointed Greg Reinhart as the Chamber representative for the Sales Tax Committee. Prior motion appointed a member of the Chamber, so unless there is further comment, I will set a meeting for the Sales Tax Committee to begin meeting.
