Attached you will fmd the activity report for the month of May. We had 213 incidents reports during
the month of May. 'This compares with 239 incident reports in 2007 and 254 incident reports in
2006.
May is usually a very busy month for the police department. With a lot of student activity and school
coming to a close we usually see an increase in activity. This year's activity was down due to the fact
that the weather was cold and wet. Pinestock and Senior Farewell went well with little if any trouble.
The colleges and city worked very well together and have met and are planning for next year.
We have added three new reserves tour department. They have gone through training in baton,
handcuffing and mace. We also did a short class on the Taser to they are familiar with the operation
and know what to expect if it is deployed.
The officers have fmished their training in the baton and handcuffing. We will be doing a low light
shoot at the Stearns County Sheriff's Office on the 18'x. Anyone interested in watching and
observing is welcome. Give me a call so that I can get you in.
We are set for Saint Stock and the 3'~ and 4to of July. We will be marking the parade with no
parking signs the day before. This will take care of the parking problem that we have last year on the
morning of the 4`~.
Please feel free to stop in anytime. I would also encourage you to ride along and observe the officers
at work. This will give you a better understanding of the operation and why and how things are done.
