AGENDA ITEM: Park Boundary Survey

BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The request for services has been
presented to the Park Board for consideration and they have unanimously recommended the Council
authorize SEH complete the Park Survey work as presented.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council has authorized the development of a Master Park Plan
to be completed by the Park Board. The funding for the master Park Plan is through the Sales Tax.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The master Park Plan is we11 underway and in gathering information for
SEH, it was determined that the City does not adequate information to locate the boundaries of the
parks. Completing the survey work would assure that we are developing within the confines of City
property and provide the City with adequate property records.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $ 11,850

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Amend the master park plan to include Park Boundary Survey work,
increasing the Park Plan cost an estimated $ 11,850.

NOTES: The scope of work includes research time at Stearns County to secure existing deed
documentation. The project costs include four hours of research and this time will
depend on available information and my take additional time. The estimated project cost
is based on the 2008 hourly rate schedule.
SERVICES Preparing Certificates of Survey for the existing platted parks, Topographic mapping of
NOT INCLUDED the parks, l.ocating/mappingencrnachments (it is presumed that with the monuments
marked by lath in the field, City Staff will be able to assess encorachments by adjacent
properties, setting of permanent wood or steel property corner reference posts.
