PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Council has budgeted for a second Loader to be purchased in
2010 (PW-8007)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: After reviewing the equipment needs for snow removal staff is
recommending outfitting the current loader with plow and wing. This will improve efficiency of the
plowing effort and reduce the need for extended hours. This outfitted piece of equipment will be needed
on all snow events and handle large snow events efficiently.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $25,000.00 for loader outfitting; Funds would come from PW 8007 of
the proposed loader with wing and plow.

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Staff is recommending approval of purchase of the plow and
wing on the existing loader.
