SUBMITTED BY: Administration BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: In 2004 the City received federal funding to complete a corridor study that has been known as the "Field Street" Study. The study was to review a south east west transportation corridor. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The initial contract indicated a five year study timeframe. At this time the study is still in the hands of Cultural Resource and the study will not be complete by April of 2009. The Amendment before the Council extends the timeline 2 years, through April 2011. Kristen from Cultural Resource has indicated that she is anticipating a letter from Dennis regarding a desire to write up a Programmatic Agreement. He wants to make sure that SHPO continues involvement during final design activities. Kristen indicated she will begin writing up the agreement immediately but it will need to be signed by FHWA, the City, SHPO and potentially others. She indicated that the Consulting Party will have an opportunity to sign it, but if they choose not to, the Programmatic Agreement is not null and void. Finally she indicated that this process will add a few more months onto the Section 106 process further extending this project.
