HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998 [02] Feb 23ST. JOSEPH PARK BOARD St. Joseph, Minnesota 56374 Minutes of meeting held February 23, 1998 Meeting called to order by Joe Braun at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall. Members present: Joe Braun, Lonnie Abbott, Chuck Muske, John Walz,and John Bonacci and Liaison: Cory Ehlert. Guests: Dan Hiedaman, Mary Generous. Members Absent: Marge Lesnick. Approval of Agenda: Motion made by Lonnie to approve agenda. Second by Chuck, motion passed. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Joe to approve the minutes with the correction that the coffee pot was donated by Ray Vogel. Second by Lonnie Abbott, motion passed. Welcome new members: John Walz, and John Bonacci. Liason Report :City Council Approved the purchase of phase #3 of 4,195 plus shipping and handling.He also said that the Park Board should look into fencing down at the Ball Park. Chairman Comments: Someone called and complimented on the free hot chocolate and apple cider. Another call, this person was concerned about the condition of the nets at the hockey rink. Got a letter thanking the board for putting up the hockey rink. Dave Hiedaman reported an Summer Rec. Suggest to up the cost to $30 per child. Discussed the possibility of adding more non-athletic events. Could we get volunteers? Check on work study students to help defray the cost. About $2,700 for T-shirts for Summer Rec. Cory to check with St. Ben's if we can get busing donated. Mary has brought up that members of the community would like to volunteer to help out in different area's of Summer Rec. Cory to check with 742 on why they don't offer a Community Ed Program for St. Joseph. Dave will report back on March 23. Old Business: Lights for the Hill: Joe checked with neighbors and they, were okey with it. Joe will check with City Council. Rinks were closed on the 14 of February. will have a small pizza party with volunteers. ST. JOSEPH PARK BOARD St. Joseph, Minnesota 56374 Camping at Millstream: Improvements at Millstream. Chuck and Joe will check on what needs to be done. Klinefelter Park: ordering equipment. Soccer Fields: no update. Fundraiser: Lonnie set up brat sales at Amoco for May 9 and May 23. Bulletin Board: Chuck to check on having Jaycee's donate money to get information signs made for area parks. Northland Park: Lonnie and John B. will get input from Northland people. New Business: Improve bathrooms at the Baseball Park. We support the idea, we need more input. Restrooms for Klinefelter Park. Next Meetine: March 23, 1998 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
