Meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Joe Braun at u:35 pm. Members present: Joe Braun, Lonnie Abbott, Irma Lanier, Margie Lesnick, Claudette Klein and Liaison, Bob Loso. Member absent: Dave Thomas Irma Lanier approved the minutes and seconded by ?•largie Lesnick with exception of Liaison Bob Loso's Name omitted. Title of Stationery has to be changed to St. Joseph Park Board on letter head according to the Mayor of St. Joseph. No corrections to the Agenda. City Liaison report will follow the Agenda. 1. Camping at F!illstream - Bob Loso made a sign; Charge of $5.00 per night; lock box is reaciyand fees will be charged beginning July 1, 1997. 2. 3ulletin Boards: Margie and Cave checked the boards. 'largie made a motion to update the bulletin boards by lowering them 2 feet and including the cost of printing the signs. ~Ehe maintenance Dept. will he asked to complete the work. 3,Klinefelter Park: The play toy that exists has been completed again for the Summer. p 4. Soccer field: Bob reported that the area has been seeded and they are waiting for rain. Flotion was made by Irma that the water lines be installed to coin- cide with the softball park for the soccer field at approximate cost of $13- $15,00. Motion seconded by Margie and carried. 5. Sculpture update: 'vJendy Klinefelter explained that they plan to install the sculpture on the east end of the park near the oak trees. Bob stated that the pond may become a drainage area for the Heid addition so they .should take care of the placement. Marge will check on the cost of insurance for the monument and who pays the cost. 5. Monument Park: Flowers are planted and Marge will do the watering, 7. Trail' in Klinefelter Park: Sob will meet with the Engineer to stake out the area and construction should begin July 5. 8. Basketball area has been completed in Centennial Park. 9, Summer Recreation Program: Oave laiedeman gave a report. They have 245 children in the program and 50% are new families, 3using is working out from Kennedy to the ball park and he has enough staff to help coordinate the program. 10. Other: Ooen skate rink in northland Park. dew Business: 1. Bridge repair in Millstream Park: most of the damage was due to snovanobiles. 2. Budget: '~;e will meet on July 15 at 6:30 to propose a budget for 1998. 3. Bob Loso requested that we ask the :laintenance Cept. for work to be done on a 1-1 basis. 4. Bob Loso received a letter from some neighbor of Cloverdale Park regarding children playing baseball in that area. Joe Braun will visit them and speak to them. 5. Claudette will check with Rachel to post the budget meeting for 5:30 at City hall on July 15. text meeting will be at Centennail Park at 6:30 on July 28, 1997. Fleeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.
