JOSEPH PARKS COMMISSION MEETING March 27, 1979 The St. Joseph Park Commission meeting of March 27, 1979 was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Ray Brandenburger, with the following members in attendance: William Lorentz, Dick Taufen, Bob Lyon, Jerry Rennie, Dave Keller Mark Plantenberg, William Lowell, Bud Reber and Harvey Notch. Board adviser Randy Schumacher recommended we make up a five year plan on the parks and to work Region 7W headed by Otto Schmit and update the plan each year. Motion by Jerry Rennie seconded by Dick Taufen to use $2,000.00 as approved by City Council for horseshoe pits. Motion carried. Charles Burg requested $2,700.00 for new fence at the baseball park - $600.00 to come from the baseball team and $600.00 from the J. C.'s. Motion by William Lorentz seconded by Bob Lyon that the fence for the baseball park be approved to the City Council. Motion carried. Motion by William Lorentz seconded by William Lowell to propose to the Council to sell a 35'X 75' parcel on the west side of Centenial Park to the Rebischke Apartments and this money to be used for the fence at the baseball park and the balance to be used in other park properties. Motion carried. Motion by William Lorentz.. seconded by Jerry Rennie to leave it up to the City Council to approve new addition to Hollow Park. Motion carried. Motion by Dick Taufen seconded by William Lorentz to sell Hollow Park. Motion carried. Motion by William Lorentz seconded by Jerry Rennie to accept by laws as amended. Motion carried. Motion by Dick Taufen seconded by Jerry Rennie to adjourn. Motion carried. Harvey Notch Secretary
