October 28, 1980
The St. Joseph Park Commission meeting of October 28, 1980 was called to
order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Ray Brandenburger with the following members
in attendance: William Lorentz, Dave Keller, Dick Taufen, Laurie Terwey,
Jerry Rennie; also Mike Husen and Howie Zimmer.
Minutes of the September 23 meeting were read and approved.
Motion by Bill Lorentz seconded by Dick Taufen to have Harry Pfannenstein
build charcoal grills--two large and two small at the shelter at Millstream
Park and two small for the campground at Millstream - at a cost of $109.18
for the large and $70.35 for the small. Money to come from donations and
park rent. Motion carried.
Granite at Millstream will cost about $1,000.00.
Motion by Bill Lorentz, seconded by Laurie Terwey to buy two truck frames
for $75.00 and $300.00 worth of planking and iron for rails to build two
small bridges for the creek. Purchases to be made by Dick Taufen. Motion
carried.
J.C.'s will donate swing set to Cloverdale Park. Cost at Trojan is $350.00
and locally built one is $300.00. Board to recommend to Council to buy local
one.
Park Commission to recommend to Recreational Association for a higher fence
in the outfield by the parking lot in the softball park.
Millstream. Park grand opening set for August, 1981.
Motion to adjourn by Dave Keller, seconded by Jerry Rennie. Motion carried.
