Members present were: Blanchette, Gretsch, Klein, Pfannenstein, Primus, and Manderfeld. Motion to accept the Minutes of previous meeting-was made by Gretsch; seconded by Klein. The possibility of issuing a "Gold Card", for volunteers who feel they have done sufficient work in developing the parks to be able to reserve them free of charge, was further discussed. Some members feel when a person volunteers, he does just that and no special privileges should be in order. The card should not be given freely, but the person requesting one should apply for it in writing. Plans are not complete. A committee to draw up final plans for the card if it is to be offered. Blanchette reported, Taufen is encouraged about Grant #2, but he was not in attendance to report on the progress being made. A child was hurt by a golf ball while playing in Centennial Park. The Park Board recommends that no golfing should be allowed in any park except Millstream Park where designated. "No Golfing" signs shall be posted. An article pertain- ing to this incident will be placed in the St. Joseph Courier. Blanchette reported the St. Joseph Township contributed $175.00 toward the student worker's salary. This summer's worker, Kim Schmidt, is working out satisfactorily. Ken Hiemenz and Allen Ehlert, members of the Rod and Gun Club, arrived to hear and discuss the results of the rifle range survey. 30% of the surveys were returned. This is .felt to be quite good. The majority support the range. Those who objected, voiced very strong objections. Since the support of the range is so strong, the Park Board feels it can no longer voice further objections, but still feels the location is not conducive to the peace and tranquility of a park. A notice to be placed in St. Joseph Courier indicating the results of the survey. Results: 52.4% in favor; 28.4% oppose; 18.6% neutral; .5% support only if open to public. Meeting adjourned at 8:T5 p.m. Nel Pfannenstein Secretary
