HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984 [01] Jan 23ST. JOSEPH PARKS COMMISSION MEETING January 23, 1984 The St. Joseph Parks Commission .met in City Hall at 7;00 p.m. on January 23. Members present were: Blanchette, Gretsch, Klein, Pfannenstein, Taufen and new member, Joe Braun. Also present was liaison, Reber. Minutes of the November meeting were approved by Gretsch; seconded by Klein. Blanchette reported, an increase of $5.00 per meeting has been granted all Commission members. This includes the Parks Commission. A one year extention has been granted for the Grant #2 project. This will enable maintenance to complete the landscaping around the underpass to Millstream Park. Gretsch reported the value of the West End Park land was not yet available. She hopes to have it by the next meeting. Blanchette reported, she had talked with Louis Jambois, Assistant Supervisor to Park & Recreation Grants Unit, who explained that Grant money which was left after the Grant time expired, need not be spent exclusively on the project for which the funds were issued. Blanchette proposed a Park Development Fund be established to hold all park funds, donations and expenditures. Reber questioned the statement that Grant money need not be spent on the project for which the funds were procured. He stated, no money should remain when Grant time runs out. Blanchette to talk to Johnson about it. Signs which will mark all the city parks are being prepared by Reber and Taufen. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Nel Pfannenstein Secretary
