July 23, 1984
The meeting was called to order at 7:07p.m. by Chairwoman, Donna Blanchette. Members
present were: Blanchette, Gretsch, Henry, Klein, Loscheider, Strickler and Liaison,
Reber.
Minutes were approved as read. There was no financial report.
Eagle Scout Project - Mike Strickler will check into the project to be done by
Jeff Bratland. It was advised that he check with his Troop. Leader that the job be
done by August 10 or to forget it this year.
Millstream Pond Dredging - A bid was received from Blattner of Avon in the amount
of $4,400 - high cost because of the way pond has to be dredged. It s$QUId be
4 feet deep and now is 1 1/2 feet and it would take 37 hours for project to be com-
pleted. Dan Meyer from Melrose is also a possibility for doing the project. If a
permit is ok'd, what do we do? Also a possibility is the Army Corp of Engineers,
someone will check with Fran Court about doing the project.
Memorial Park - no bids yet.
Center for Community Studies - Peggy Sand told Donna that we were approved for
program - a student could do this in fall.
Discussion about wading pool - possibly put in Centennial Park, convenient because
of bathroom situation. It was mentioned to build a wading pool with a swimming
pool in mind for an addition at a later date. Costs: liability cost, taxes,
maintenance/operational cost, lifeguards. It was suggested to contact Prentiss
Foster from St. Cloud as a consultant as they are building another pool in St. Cloud.
People were asked to approach different groups in St. Joseph for a donation.
Meeting ended at about 8:45 p.m.
