St. Joseph Parks Commission Meeting
October 22, 1984
The regular meeting of the Parks Commission was held in the
City Hall on Monday, October 22, 1984, at 7:00 pm. Members
present were: Donna Blanchette, Claudette Klein, Nel Pfannenstain,
Joe Braun, Greg Henry, Mary Jo Loscheider, and Dick Taufen.
Dredging: Donna reported that Fran Court had not returned
her call. We do not expect this work to be done
this fall.
Grant X12: The project is just about completed. Bridges were
painted - rocks need to be added so cement does not
wash away, and possibly put a bern on west side.
Millstream bathroom: Put a pipe up for air becuase of odor.
Klein said she would call Geyer to see what chemical
they use for odor.
Hockey Rink: Elmer Rakotz approached the board in regard to
to a new place for hockey rink. It was suggested that
it could be pit at northwest end of Memorial Park.
It was asked that they present a plan ai. the next
meeting.
Center for, Community Students: project was agreed upon by all
members via phone calls. City Council approved
project. Concentration will be on Centennial Park.
Wading Pool: Valley View Association representative was at
meeting and presented a plan - depth from 30" to 6" deep,
area around it would be 20x20 or 15x20 standard with
10 ft around on all sides. Possible cost $15,000.
Recommended heating, small building 4x8', 5 ft fence
all around.
Meeting adjourned at 9:12.
