Meeting was called to order at 8:06 by Joe Braun. Members present were:
Jo Loscheider, John Anderson, Nel Pfannenstein, Steve Defiler, Liaison, Fay
Gretsch, Greg Henry, Claudette Klein.
Minutes were approved and seconded.
Financial Report: Fay and Joe will check with Rachel for the beginning and
ending balance to see haw much money we have left in our account.
Liaison Report: Property north of hill in Memorial Park is owned by resident.
Cloverdale park is now sodded where hill was instead of sand so a skating
rink can be there for the winter months - why was this done?
Winter Recreation Program: There are four people interested in the program.
We will interview these people as soon as possible. We know that $2500.00
has been allocated for this program from the City Council.:
Possible programs are: adult volleyball, adult broomball, children:
'skating lessons, volleyball, cross country skiing for any age, field
trips for snow tubing, Winter survival/camping; Senior Citizens: cards,
ice fishing.
Green Thumb Program: Think about skating rinks as to haw to be open: each
day or weekends only, etc. and what times?
Game Field Jogging Course: As far as we know it is now the property of the
City. We should get an aerial view of the Millstream Park to see where
it would be feasible to put each individual course item.
Music in skating warming house: John Anderson checked on cost for an amplifier,
microphone and speakers - $125.00 with cassette radio $75.00-more. It was
suggested to have an automatic timer put on the system and placed in a
locked space. We would only try it for Memorial Park for this year to see
haw they would respond to system.
John Anderson made a recommendation to buy one PA system and put it at
Memorial Park and to place it high so no vandalism will take place.
Fees for shelters: Fee for park reservations will be the same for city and
township residents. Also have a jack put in Centennial Park shelter for
phone to be removed in fall after Summer Recreation program. Also are
asking that phone be connected for local calls only.
Change of time and day for meetings: Motion was made to change meeting day
to 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. This was agreed upon by all.
Meeting adjourned at 9:20 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
