Minutes of June 20, 1988 meeting
Meeting called to order by Joe Braun, Chairperson at 7:02 pm at Centennial Park.
Members present were: Nel Pfannenstein, Fay Gretsch, Joe Braun, John Anderson,
Greg Henry, Larry Christen, Claudette Klein and liaison
Steve Defiler.
Members absent: Mary Jo Loscheider.
Minutes were approved and seconded.
Sand Boxes/Jogging Course: should be completed when maintenance department has
time to do so. We feel our work is completed on these two projects.
Installation of SB9ABC: Johnny Johnson is coming to install unit with Jaycee members.
Arrangements were made for lodging and meals to be paid for by-City for Mr. .Johnson.

Sumer Recreation Program: all is going great!! Steve will check with City council
for additional help.
Informational meeting: Talked about easement and access to proposed-,.park area in
Clinton Village. A notice will be made up regarding the things that are available
in each park area. Nell will make a sign regarding usage of Millstream park. It
will then be posted.

Report on Workshop Day: Fay Gretsch went to a workshop in the Turin ~i-dies. She
said the presentation was mostly for insurance and not so much for parks.
Poison Ivy Report: A recommendation was made to have the maintenance department
check for poison ivy in and near the east walkway of the nature park. Necessary
precautions should be taken.
Closing of Baker Street: There are barriers placed at the ends of each street
~in Eastern Park.
New Member: Steve will check with City Council regarding the new member, Larry
Christen.
Morningside Park: The swamp area is completely dried up. Would there be any use
for fertilizer in the city that could be taken out of that area? or the swamp
hole made deeper for the holding pond?
Recommendation: to have the pea rock areas groomed somewhat in regard to liability.
Meeting adjourned at 7:48. Following the meeting the area was measured for in-
stallation of SB9ABC unit.
