Minutes of meeting - July 18, 1988

Members present: Fay Gretsch, Greg Henry, John Anderson, Joe Braun, harry
Christen, Nel Pfannenstein, Jo Loscheider, Claudette
Klein, liaison Steve Oehler.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Joe Braun at 7:00 pm.
Approval of minutes except for following changes:
The City did not pay for Mr. Johnson's stay at the Super 8 Motel and
his meals. They were paid by Women of Today.
Also the workshop Ms. Gretsch attended was in St. Cloud and not the
Twin Cities.
Minutes were approved upon these corrections by Fay Gretsch, seconded by
John Anderson.
Signs - Millstream: Claudette typed up a sign and took it to City Hall to
have it laminated and it was suggested that they post at least 2 signs.
SB9ABC: Fee for room for Mr. Johnson was donated. by Super 8.Mote1; Herk's,
Linnemann's, St. Joe Meat Market, Bernicks, Women of Today, Jaycees,
Leon Koopmeiners (mixer) all donated something for that day. Borgert
Concrete donated all the sand and 20$ off on the concrete. We thank
all these people.
There should be another bar placed in the middle near hand rails,
also new style caps will be put on pipes. Joe will talk to Mr.
Johnson about this from Big Toys.
Summer Recreation Program: The program is going well and is very well attended
by the children of the area. One helper resigned and a new helper was sent by
the Boys and Girls club. Laurie Schultzetenberg will be invited to the August
meeting.
New Member: Larry Christen is the new member on the Park Board. Welcome, Larry!
Dredging: The maintenance department is too busy to remove dirt from Morningside
Park.
Horse shoe pits: Steve is getting some young boys to clean up the area and to
add sand. The money for this work will come from the fund the group has in
the bank.
New Business:
Winter Recreation Program: We will need to have the City Council approve the salary
for the program director. John will set up some guidelines for the new director.
The suggested salary was $5.00 per hour.

Hockey rink: Joe ar~d John will measure the present rink to see if it
will fit into Memorial Northwest corner.
Archery: We should put some information out to the public regarding use
of archery packstop and other facilities available in all parks.
