Minutes of meeting -August 16, 1988
Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Joe Braun at 7:04 am.
Members present: Joe Braun, John Anderson, Greg Henry, Larry Christen, Jo Ipscheider,
..Claudette Klein, liaison -Steve Oehler.
Members absent: Fay Gretsch, Nei Pfannenstein.
Minutes were .approved by Jo Loscheider and seconded by Greg Henry.
Swrmer Recreation Program; Lori had a good report. She would like to design
her awn program because many times they could not participate in special events,
for example, the Omni. Theater, St. Cloud had signatures before St. Joe students
signed up. Approximately 250 students took part in one or another program. She
handed out t-shirts to each member.
Winter Recreation Program: John figured out somewhat of a budget at 60 total hours
at $5.00/hr, and assistant to receive $4.00/hr. He also has some rules and regula-
tions to follow. Steve will give a report to City Council regarding budget at their
next meeting.
Signs for Millstream: Eight signs should be posted all over'Millstream.
Hockey Rinks: John and Joe measured the proposed hockey rink area in Memorial Park.
It is 83' wide by 200' long. We should check with Hockey Association, Baseball team
and Kennedy to see if they would like rink moved from near Kennedy school.
Archery: Joe will check with Bill Lorentz to see how the archery stand use can be
handled.
Jogging Course: Joe will talk to Dic Taufen to see when this course could be installed.
He will also check on the sand boxes. Joe could not reach Johnny Johnson regarding
the pole for the Big Tay in Centennial Park. He will keep trying.
Speakers for music system: It was suggested to buy another set of speakers so there
would be four at the skating rink.
Greater Minnesota Clean-up; The Governor and some helpers will be caning on August.
20 to clean up along the rivers and creeks in the area.
Horse shoe pit: Steve said they were all cleaned up but they need washed sand.
Stove for Warming House: Has anew/used stove been purchased?
Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm.
