Centennial Park: Questions were raised regarding sand blasting at this time of year.
Maybe that should wait until spring. There is some work to be completed on the inside.
Joe Braun will check with Dick Taufen to see if they should go ahead or wait till spring.
It was also suggested that the outside of the bathrooms in Millstream should be painted.
Winter Recreation: Dan Stark will again be the winter recreation coordinator. Joe asked
if we had funding for this program or does Steve have to present it to the Council? We
can have the schedule printed in the St. Joseph Newsleader. Dan will hire his own help.
Would it be a possibility to have Dan work with the students who monitor the skating rink.
Question was raised as to the grooming of the cross country trails for skiing. John will
check to see if Millstream Park is on the county list of trails.
Hill slides: John and Joe checked out hill slides and they thought both slides could be
put into the west side of the hill in Memorial park. Need two items: 1) enough slope for
elides, 2) should be near some playground equipment but nothing is in that area. Steve
gill make a report to the Council on this item.
Liaison report: Steve had a report of budgeted money and each will receive a copy of this
in regard to the parks. Some of the money was put aside to pay for lawn cutting in the
summer time that would be a ~ time position.

Archer: Joe has had several calls regarding the archery range. He told people they could

City needed to put an underground wire to Lion's shelter with more voltage in the line.
It was also suggested to have a new water fountain put in near the bathrooms.
Jogging Course: The Jaycees ran out of gas - no help available as of now. Maybe there
will more initiative in the spring.

put in a maintenance account. No reports have been made to the City Council.
New Business
5-year plan: Each person on the board should bring ideas for all parks. John would like

Members present were: Darwin Erickson, Rich Schultz, Greg Henry, John 1~lnderson,
and Claudette Klein.
John Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:20.
John invited four students from St. Cloud State University to initiate and
set-up a 5-year plan for Morningside Park. They stated that they wanted
to begin by giving out a survey to the residents living in that area, also
to tax payers as such in the whole city and possibly contact the township.
On the survey they would rank in order the things that should be done. They
would also ask individuals interested in helping to do so and then they would
be given some recognition in the form of a plaque or such. The questionnaire
would have selected questions for different areas of the city. The four men
had very good ideas and questions.
John will check with the City Clerk to see if that area could be surveyed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
