_- ~ Minutes of November 13, 1989 ~. q~~ .,,
.~ ~~,
Meeting was called to order by John Anderson at 6:33 pm.
Members present were: John Anderson, Fay Gretsch, Joe Braun, Nel Pfannenstein,
Greg Henry, Larry Christen, Claudette Klein and Liaison Steve Oehler.
Absent: Mary Jo Loscheider
Minutes were approved by Joe Braun and seconded by Fay Gretsch.
Liaison Report: Steve remarked that the budget meeting did not take place in
October but will be held on November 30. He cannot be there, so he asked if
a Park Board member would attend. The City may hire apart-time person for
parks maintenance from May thru August. Steve will inquire about the water
fountains in Millstream and Centennial Parks.
Old Business
Winter Recreation: John will ask Dan Stark to do the pre-program wr~rk in
December and focus most of the program in January and a lot of time for the
free time week in February when District 742 is closed.
Jogging Game Course: Should this be installed in Millstream or Morningside
Park? It has been requested that the grass is cut in Morningside Park thru
the summer.
Other Old Business: the City has a sandblaster and will do the work in spring
and then the Jaycees will paint the Centennial Park Shelter.
Picnic tables were not moved to Tot Lots yet.
New Business
Cross Country Ski trails at Millstream: John will contact the group that grooms
the trails. This trail may be used for the classes during Winter Recreation
Porgram.
Five Year Plan: Will be discussed further at a later date.
Morningside Park: Two students from St. Cloud State were present to give an
explanation of the 5-year plan for that park. Some parts of it need to be
dredged because of the water flaw. It seems as though the park will be mostly
for the neighborhood residents.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
