Minutes from meeting of March 12, 1990 Meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm by Chairperson John Anderson.. Members present: Nel Pfannenstein, Joe Braun, Fay Gretsch, John Anderson and Claudette Klein. Members absent: Greg Henry, Larry Christen and Liaison Steve Dehler_ Minutes were approved by Joe Braun and seconded by Fay Gretsch. Winter Recreation Program - turnout has not been great and some may be due to Jacob's abduction and the weather has not been favorable. Also maybe not enough publicity regarding program. Park Clean-up Day: will be three weekends: April 22, 28 and May 5. CSB/SJU students will be cleaning up ditches in and around the City. On the 28th the Boy and Girl Scouts will clean up the parks. May 5, college students will clean up whatever is left to do. Archery Range: Joe will meet with Steve and Wayne who wish to help with the archery range to get it ready. The name of "Millstream Archery Range" should be put up on the site. It was suggested that Joe get a club started to show the interest of residents. It was suggested to get a water font put back in Millstream and Centennial parks. **Fencing for tot lots because cars and driving through them. This has been an on-going complaint by neighbors of the tot lots. Liaison Report: The Recreation Association is planning to cut down the banks for a moveable Swale on the Northeast end of the diamond area. Steve brought up to the Council to pave a lot in Morningside Park. Joe Braun bought a new timer for the music in Memorial Park but the key to the building is missing. As soon as they find a key he will install it. Tot lot sand boxes - will they be completed this summer by the maintenance crew or will we need to hire the job out? Will the City Council support the Summer. Recreation Program in the hiring of Laurie Schulzetenberg. Joe also indicated that the mayor mentioned that Millstream pond will be dredged this summer. Morningside Park Preliminary plans were discussed. A copy is enclosed. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm. Submitted by: Claudette Klein, secretary
