V~~ Meeting called to order by John Anderson, chairperson at 6:35 pm. Members present: Greg Henry, Nel Pfannenstein, Fay Gretsch, Joe Braun, John Anderson, Claudette Klein and Steve Dehler, liaison and guests Steve and John Schweiters. Minutes were approved by Nel Pfannenstein and seconded by Greg Henry. Liaison report: Steve reported that the cement picnic tables have been moved to the Tot Lots. He also showed letter of preliminary plan for Morningside Park and said that all Council members received a copy. Old Business Tot Lot Complaints: Letter received by John Anderson regarding Cloverdale Tot Lot regarding the playing of hard balls in area. If window would be broken iri her home the city would have to pay for it. If the wood would be put around sand boxes maybe this would curb some of the problem. In Hollow Park there are cars driving between some of the homes and up the hill. Membership: Claudette will ask Marge Lesnick if she is interested. Steve Schweiters is also interested in being on the board and John will contact Rich Schultz and Darwin Erickson who live in the Morningside area to see if they would be interested. Archery Range: Joe, Steve and John Schweiters will meet with the insurance agent of the City to see if the plan they have drawn up will be ok with the insurance company. The board members approved the concept of the plan and to have a sign put up saying where the range is located. Winter Recreation Program: Dan Stark gave a synopsis of the program which was not attended very well. But they did go through with some of the programs and made the best of them. Dan will be student teaching next year so will not be able to do the program. He will have everything outlined and number in attendance at each function for the 2 years if possible. He also gave each student a certificate for attending the program. Feedback on Morningside Park: no comment. Park Glean-up Day: April 28 is clean-up day and they expect Boy Scout Troops 284 and 84 members to be there to help. Dick Taufen will have garbage bags, etc. A luncheon treat will be served in appreciation for their work. Dredging: no more info on dredging ponds. done at the same time as Millstream Park. Still would like to see Morningside Park New Business Bikers: An organization of Dry Riders will be renting Millstream Park~on Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Summer Recreation Program: Lori Schulzetenberg will be working with Kid Stop at Kennedy School but will supervise the program. We will need to hire a person for the programs in the ball park. There will be a $10.00 charge this year and that includes a t-shirt and $5.00 going to Kid Stop and anyone who pays this fee can drop in at Kid Stop. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
