Meeting was called to order by Chairperson John Anderson at 6:32 pm.
Members present were: Joe Braun, John Anderson, Greg Henry, Nel Pfannenstein,
Richard Schultz, Fay Gretsch and Claudette Klein.
Members absent were: Larry Christen, Darwin Erickson and Marge Lesnick and Steve Dehler.

Old Business
Cost of Back Stop for Morningside Park: Larry received an estimate from Bemboom
Fence Co. for $1600.00 which includes installation.
Painting of Centennial Shelter: As soon as it is ready Jaycees will paint
during the day.
Fencing of Tot Lots: They have started in Hollow Park and will also do Cloverdale
and the fence around the horse shoe pit:.
Cost of concrete picnic table: Greg checked into the cost of concrete picnic
tables from Bremix. The cost is $315 for two tables with delivery free.
Construction of Sand Boxes: Joe checked out a lot of places and no one is interested
in doing the work. Bartell Nursery will do the work and add sand for $1380. A copy
will be sent to the City Council.
A thank you letter will be sent to the Lions from the Park Board for the shelter
and on-going contribution to Morningside and Millstream Parks.
Archery: The interest of the group has dissipated. Joe Braun may still put up
some type of bails for the archery range as some people do use it.
A suggestion was made to have more trees planted around the shelter in Millstream
Park for shade. Fay will contact the Lions to see if they are interested.
There has been no response from the Police Department regarding the letter sent
about motorized vehicles in the Parks.
Morningside sign has not been moved as recommended by the Board.
Summer Recreation Program seems to be doing well. We will invite Lori to our
August meeting.
New Business
Centennial Park - a remark was made that young people are splashing water all over
the area and could the water be shut off when not in use.
For the next meeting each should put a wish list together so that groups could donate
to parks. This is for the September meeting. In August we will have a tour of the
parks.
Concentrate on ideas of where not to put volleyball building.
Meeting adjourned at 7:07 pm.
