Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, Chair at 6:35 pm.
Members present: Darwin Erickson, Marge Lesnick, Rich Schultz, John Anderson, Joe Braun,
Greg Henry, Fay Gretsch, Larry Christen, Claudette Klein, Liaison - Steve
Dehler.
Absent: Nel Pfannenstein
Minutes were approved by Darwin Erickson and seconded by Marge Lesnick.
Liaison Report: Project in Morningside Park seems to be well done. Rich thought they would
make it deeper.
Millstream - One company backed out for doing the project. A new company is
filling the ditch from the softball park to Millstream and take out the bridge. Steve will
check with Dic to see if they can save the bridge and use it in Morningside sometime (if
needed). They will also be dredging the mill stream and using that for fill.
Any repairs will need to be put in writing for parks.
Centennial Park: There will be two new overhead (roll up) doors put in the shelter. A lock
would be nice on the bathroom doors (or latch).
Old Business
Summer Recreation: 257 children registered for the program. 50 children participated from
the Kid Stop program. Most programs in the morning were at Kennedy school with both groups.
There was a good representation and many took part in the extra activities. John will the
with Laurie about a few recommendations from Boys & Girls Club for Winter Recreation Progr
Review of Wish List: Everybody should priortize some of the wish list. Also barb wire
fencing is illegal in the city as stated by Steve.
Dry Riders: seemed O.K. - music quit fairly early.
New Business
A. Winter Recreation Program: John prepared a job description and ad for papers (St. Cloud
Times, Newsleaders) post in schools. Ad deadline will be Sept. 28.
B. Warming House: What to do with it? It is in bad shape.
