March 11, 1991
Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, chairperson.
Members present: Joe Braun, Claudette Klein, Fay Gretsch, Rich Schultz, Larry
Christen, John Anderson, Marge Lesnick, Liaison Bob Loso.
Absent: Greg Henry, Darwin Erickson
Minutes were approved by Bob Loso and seconded by Marge Lesnick.
Liaison Report: a tracto lawn mower was purchased for use in parks, etc.
Spring Clean-up: Joe Braun has scheduled May 11 as Clean up day and will have
help from Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts Pack 84, 284 and Boy Scouts from 10:00 am
to 1:00 with lunch provided. The College of St. Benedict has set aside May 12
for clean up day in St. Joseph.
New Business
Summer Recreation: John will meet with Lori Schultzetenberg this coming week
regarding summer rec program. A suggestion was made to have more activities
for 10-14 year olds. It was also suggested to have a skate board ramp set up
in one park. This will be discussed at another time. It was also suggested
to set-up or purchase a miniature golf for one of the parks.
Baseball Camp: The St. Joseph "Joes" Baseball team will have a baseball camp
for boys from ages 7-17 on June 10-13 from 9:00-12:00 noon. St. Joe Legion
Club is subsidizing a portion of the fees. Students from other areas have
also been invited.
A slide show of all the parks was given by John Anderson. About ten people
attended the meeting.
The Lions have/will put on a new roof, roll up doors and new widnaws in the
old section of the shelter.
Pat Schneider passed out a copy of what they plan to do in Memorial park in
the next few years: bleachers, 8 ft fencing, etc.
Meeting adjourned at 7:37 pm.
