Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, Chair at 6:35 pm. Members present were Joe Braun, John Anderson, Fay Gretsch, Marge Lesnick, Darwin Erickson, Rich Schultz, Claudette Klein and liaison, Bob Loso. Absent: Greg Henry, Larry Christen The picnic tables have been placed in the Historical Monument site. The sign was also approved for the erance to this area. Old Business: Liaison Report: Bob Loso reported that the developer on the east end of town will donate $42,000 to develop Morningside Park. Regarding the water fountain, the original company we had ordered the fountain from has gone broke and so John will contact another company. Some of the equipment for the archery set has been found. Joe Braun will put an article in the Newsleader regarding use of the archery stand/area. Most of the .equipment that was there in that areas has been removed, but no one seems to know why. The Summer Rec program has been completed with success. John will ask Laurie for a report on the program. New Business: Winter Rec program -Laurie is interested in doing that program this winter. John will talk to Laurie regarding this program. Resignation of Greg Henry and Larry Christen. An ad will be put in the Newsleader asking for 2 new members. to apply to the Park Board. Progress has been great in Morningside Park. The dead trees have been cut down, other trees have been trimmed up, grass has been mowed, it looks great. We are sending a thank you note to the Maintenance workers regarding their work in Morningside Park. Vandalizing of the archery area -everything has been taken from archery area -maybe it was in need of repair. House on Millstream property: A recommendation was made to demolish/fire department fire exercise to have the house removed. Bob Loso will check to see if it is a log house, but the Historical Society is not interested in it as they have a log house. If the house is removed, the park board is making a suggestion of a possibility to expand the parking lot in that area. Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm. Submitted by / ~-u-~^' Claudette Klein, secretary
