Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, chairperson at 6:37 pm.
Members present: John Anderson, Rich Schultz, Joe Braun, Fay Gretsch, Margie
Lesnick and liaison, Bob Loso.
Members absent: Claudette Klein and Darwin Erickson.
Minutes were approved by-Joe Braun and seconded by Fay Gretsch.
Old Business:
Winter Recreation Program: Going as well as in the past! Six registrations as
o Dec. 21. John informed Laurie a m;n;nnan of 15 registrations for February
program. Will cancel program and pay Laurie up to date.
- Joe contacted St.. Joseph Youth Group (10-12 graders) to help chaperone winter
events. Would help as their co~m~ty service project.
- Next. year winter program - John spoke with Jeff Collen from the St. Cloud
YMCA who would be willing to help us run our program.
Area Parks. in St.Jose h - Priorities:
Cloverdale Ho low Park - Joe, C audette, Fay
1. Sandbox - Hollow Park (24x24 - Approx $900.00
2. Backhoe Digger - (2) $252.00 per unit
3. Spring toys - 1993 (approx.. $372 per toy)
Centennial Park - Margie
1. Water ountain (purchased-install-Spring)
2. Defined rack area around shelter/boarder around pearock Big Toy
3. Volleyball court -move and sand fill
4. RE-do horseshoe pits
Momxment Park - Margie
1. Signs - approved and ordered for spring
2. Tuck point monument
3. New trees - 2
4. Flowers
Memorial Park
1. window - installed
2. Hockey Rink - move to Memorial Park outside left filed fence (Written
recommendation)
Millstream Park - John
. Large trees around shelter
2. Removal of old house
Mo side - Rich & Darwin
Wil bring to next meeting.
Was suggested that a list of park improvements be sent to the Lion's Club by
chairperson.
Liaison Report -Bob Loso
City Council would like a recommendation from the Park Board to purchase
Indian Hill property (for city park) for $20,000-25,000. Property is less
than once acre.. John tabled this recommendation till he researches this ..
property and reviews it with Mr. Bettendorf, City Engineer.
Mr. Loso suggested that all recommendations that are to be submitted to
the City Council be written by the Park Board and signed by the chairperson.
In regard to the letter fr~n.the LOSS control Consultant (we aii received
a copy before December meeting) Mr. Loso reported the City will take care
of the two recommendations.
