""r Minutes of the meeting of March 23, 1992 ~~~~ ;w ~w+. The meeting was called to order by John Anderson, chairperson at 6:36 pm. Members present were: Marges Lesnick, Joe Braun, Darwin Erickson, John Anderson, Fay Gretsch, Rich Schultz, Claudette Klein and Liaison Bob Loso. Minutes were approved by Rich Schultz and seconded by Marge Lesnick. Liaison Report: The council approved to retain the Boys and Girls Club to facilitate the Summer Recreation Program. So Laurie will not be facilitating the program this year. Engineering studies are going on for Morningside Park and the layout for Mr. Heid, the developer. Sandboxes and backhoes have been approved. Joe will check with the Jaycees to see whether they would help with the project. Baseball representative: Pat Schneider was wondering where the hockey rink would be placed. The space is on the north end of left field. His indication was that this is ok. The lighting at Kennedy rink will also be moved over and Bob Loso is looking at some new type of lighting. The baseball team needs a storage area. It was suggested that Pat look into the cost of a 20' x 20' building. It was also suggested to add on the existing warming house on the south side of the building. Earthday projects - Joe is the coordinator. Bob mentioned that dumpsters will be placed behind Linnemann's and near a park. Regarding parking lot in Morningside it was suggested to have a roll-over curb - around the lot. The auction is set for May 2 for the house in Millstream Park. The signs are in for Memorial park by the monument. They will be put up as soon as possible. Nesa Business Judy Meyer attended the meeting for the Girl Scouts and Women of Today. They are willing to help on any park improvements. Adopt-a-Park: John passed out some information on adopting a park for groups in ~.he city of St. Joseph. Rich turned in some bids for the Morningside parking lot. The meeting adjourned at 7:45.
