Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, Chairperson at 6:35 pm.
Members present: Joe Braun, Marge Lesnick, Fay Gretsch, John Anderson, Darwin Erickson,
Irene Lanier, Rich Schultz, Claudette Klein and Liaison Bob Loso.
Correction on minutes of April 26; bathroom drawing should say bathroom plan.
Minutes were approved by Bob Loso and seconded by Rich Schultz.
Liaison Report:
the City Engineer will do a plan for the bathroom in Centennial Park according to ADA
recommendations.
-Fencing project for Morningside Park was estimated a $2083 and includes fencing all along
the east side and part of the west side.
amity Council approved the planting of annual flowers in Monument Park and replacing broken
and ripped out trees by Dennis Katzner that are still under warranty.
Water will be going in with a Hydrant valve in Monument Park.
-Bob Loso has applied for a grant for a Trailway track in Morningside Park.
-Approval from township for $400 to use from Historical Society for flowers.
-It was questioned if there would some way to cut off traffic through Monument park to traffic.
The City Council will•be doing the budget by the middle of June for 1994.
Park Survey will be done in August.
Old Business
-Budget recommendations - John and Joe went through some of the ideas and will present
these to the Council. These are preliminary plans.
-Morningside inspection and recommendations were put on hold.
-Spring Toys will be installed by the Jaycees in Centennial Park.
-Recommendation was made to have the border around Big Toy made higher so pea rock does not
spread all over. Also to have borders put around seeing set and slide area and also where
spring toys will be placed.
-A suggestion was made that some trees from the north end of Millstream be taken out and
moved to other parks.
-John will send thank you notes to all groups who have done/donated to the parks in the City
of St. Joseph.
