'" %~-- St. Joseph, Minnesota 56374 - ~ -~'~"." ~1.- S _.,.... - -- Minutes from meeting of July 26, 1993 _ ~ ~ ~~ .~ Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, chairperson, at 6:30 pm. Members present: Marge Lesnick, Fay Gretsch, John Anderson, Richard Schultz, Irma Lanier, Joe Braun, Claudette Klein and Liaison, Bob Loso. Absent member: Darwin Erickson Correction to minutes of June 21: Cloverdale 3rd and 4th money was designated for Morning- side Park not including Northland Park. Minutes approved following correction. Liaison report: Letter sent to City Clerk from Thell family regarding danger of high slide for younger children. A recommendation was made by Claudette Klein to remove high slide because of potential liability problems and potential injury, and seconded by Fay Gretsch. A friendly amendment was made by Marge Lesnick to have high slide replaced by some other equipment. City donated $600 along with other donations amounting to $309 from various groups: Legion, Women of Today, Jaycees, for t-shirts for Summer Recreation program. Fence has been installed in Morningsi_de park. Border around Centennial park will be installed sometime in August. Hockey rink will be moved in fall. Centennial Park bathrooms must be completed according to the ADA code. Bob Loso has invited Ken Hiemenz from the City Council to the next meeting regarding Korningside park as he has some important information regarding that park. Denny K$tzner checked out plans for Morningside Park with Richard Schultz and Darwin Erickson. A plan was brought to the July meeting. Further discussion will be at the next meeting with Mr. Hiemenz. Budget should be compiled and turned in to Bob Loso to be presented to the Council. If not all monies are used for current year, same may be designated for use in a future year. It was suggested to have an open meeting in September regarding Cloverdale and Hollow Parks closure. Letters will be sent to adjoining residents by the City Clerk. It was suggested by Marge Lesnick to have a SLOW: CHILDREN AT PLAY ~-1~aceB on the corner of Birch Street near all three parks. Traffic does not slow down ~.n that area. This has been tabled until the next meeting. Irma Lanier suggested that users of the parks do not bring in glass containers with pop or drinks in the park. A lot of danger of glass being broken. She will check with City Clerk if there is such an ordinance in the city. It-was suggested to send thank you notes to the maintenance crew for the super work done in the parks. Letters will go to Dick Taufen, Ray Bechtold, Chad Tadych, Jim M~~thaler, and Mike Sikorski. P Meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.
