Meeting was called to order by John Anderson at 6:30 ~.
Members present: John Anderson, Joe Braun, Fay Gretsch, Marge Lesnick, Irma Lanier,
Claudette Klein and Liaison, Bob Loso.
Members absent: Rich Schultz and Darwin Erickson
Liaison report: Walkway in Mornmment park completed. Border finished in Centennial
Park. Slide and tire set removed and also jungle gym removed.
Bob explained the budget and the budget survived the first cut.
Proposed grant for trail was denied from Department of Natural Resources.
Ken Hiemenz explained what had been done in Morningside Park. An area must be
reserved for Habitat and nesting area for birds and wild life, and also wetland area
must be preserved according to the DNR. Ken will send more information regarding
this park. The first cutting should only be done after July 15th. The walking trail
has been ok'd.
Park Survey: John entered the park survey in his computer.
Review of by-laws: We are not nearly acting according to the current by-laws.
Glass ordinance: There is no ordinance in our city, Rachel will check with several
other cities to see if they ha~.,~ ordinances regarding glass in parks. The park board
might make a recom:~endation at the-next meeting. Rules should be set up this winter
for all parks so they are ready for spring.
A reconanendation to have cement pads under picnic tables in Centennial.
Hockey rink: Bob Loso will di~antle the rink and needs help. City maintenance department
will move it to Memorial Park. It was suggested to have Rachel contact the school
district to see if they have any objections to have the rink moved to another area.
Fall clean-up: curb side pick up will be October 14-21 for all types of garbage.
Joe Braun has set October 16 as Fall Clean-Up day. He will contact the Scouts to help.
Meeting adjourned at 7:33 pm.
Next meeting will be September 27th.
