St. Joseph, Minnesota 56374 ~ _Q ~~ `=~~. ~: _~ Minutes of meeting of March ~8, X994 ~- - ~ ` Meeting called to order by Joe Braun in John sent his apologies for his absence. Members present: Joe Braun, Fay Gretsch, Richard Schultz, and liaison Bob Loso. • .,,. ~~ ~ ,w ~,, ~ ,. he absence of John Anderson at 6:30 pm. John came late. Claudette Klein, Marge Lesnick, Irma Lanier, Members absent: John Anderson, Darwin Erickson. New Business: Boys and Girls Club attended meeting. Members present were, Mark Sakry, C'nris Verlo, Gary Kalla, Kurt Steits. 'Tney have added some new programs for the Surmner Recreation program. 'The program seems very interesting. The original location of the park in Northland Addition has been changed. There was some concern regarding the entrance and the parking area. Rich Schultz made a motion to purchase 500 seedling stock for $185.00 and decide when to plant them. Possibl,~ ask Scouts and 4-H groups to help plant in the parks. A shank you note will be sent to Phil Bailey at Bremi,~ for the donation of park bench. Liaison Report: The by-laws for the Park Board were accepted by the City Council. The purchase of a new slide was also accepted. The insurance carrier approved the purchase of the slide. Bob met with the Recreation Association regarding the porposal made to raise fences and moving ahem ~acic. Some of the monies will come from the Grant monies 53-4,000. Join :Wade a :notion. to dedicate S3,?00 rem Gran reimbursement monies for the Recreation Association to make improvements to outfiied fences. Motion passed - seconded by 'barge Resnick. Mr. Taufen stated at the Council meeting that the bleachers in Memorial Park are in need of repairs. Mr. Pat Schneider stated to Bob that Sauk Rapids is installing new bleachers and would sell their old bleachers. Bob, Mr. Taufen, and Pat Schneider were going to look at the bleachers to see if they would be feasible for St. Joseph. The cost could be S5 to 6,000. Old Business: Earthday - John Anderson, representative from St. Joe will ;seep in touch. Clean up Day - April 30. Jee Braun will contact all Scouts and other groups to help with the clean up. Park Rules Posting: It was decided to have the City print and type up the park rules and 'nave them printed on bright colors along with the fe~a changes that were made: Dogs must be leashed; animal waste must be picked up and removed. Park Rules were unanimously passed with the above changes including Archery in designated area only. A special meeting will take place or_ April 11 at 6:30 pm to discuss ADA changes in the par'_~c areas. Rich Schultz was given permission to order Nesting Area signs for Morningside Park.
