- '~ Minutes of meeting October 24, 1994 ,,~~,,,, ~~~ ~~
Meeting was called to order by John Anderson, Chairperson at 6:35 pm.
Members present: Irma Lanier, Fay Gretsch, Margie Lesnick, John Anderson, Darwin
Erickson and Liaison, Bob Loso.
Members absent: Joe Braun, Rich Schultz and Claudette Klein.
Minutes were approved by Margie Lesnick and seconded by Irma Lanier.
Liaison Report:
The curbing has been installed to the entrance of Morningside Park and the paving is to
be completed this week.
Memorial Park hill is having the paving resurfaced dawn to the hockey rink including curb.
Skating season: Ad will be put in Newsleader for helpers.
Parks are closed for the season.
Northland Park, consisting of seven acres, will be started .this fall. Drainage has been
taken care of by builder.
Old Business:
Recruit new members (two) for Park Board, preferably from Northland and Morningside additions.
Babe Ruth Lea Flyers were sent to approximately 1800 households and City Clerk will
ave ina results by Sunday, October 30th.
TvJinter Recreation: Besides skating, Loso suggested we offer hay rides for our youths during
mi -winter. Highly accepted by Board members.
Morningside Park: Loso heard nothing regarding the Grant that was submitted. Will check
into this matter. Larwin Erickson chacked on costs for the edging of sand box. The bid
of $850+ was approved by Council. with City Maintenance-doing the installing hopefully
this fall.
Irma Lanier presented to the Board a sketch of a "park information display case" designed
by her and Joe Braun for the City parks. It will display schedules, park rules, special
events, etc. Two sizes were agreed upon: 4'x4' to be installed in Millstream park (2)
and Centennial park (1) and 24"x48" to be installed in Hollow Park (1) and Cloverdale
Park (1). They will contact different organizations for donations for the material and
Loso volunteered to build them. Bob Loso was approached by members of softball recreation
for excess parking behind the softball fields in Millstream park. Tabled until a later
date so Board members can view area,

Up ate ive year plan - should be done every winter. Secretary will send copy of the
last ive year p an with minutes. Tabled till next meeting.
John Anderson reported on the National Recreations and Park Association Convention he
attended recently. A lot of exce ent wor ops on i Brent programs. ery wort while.
Has literature at home to view if interested.
Design Team Reference: John Anderson wrote one for the City Clerk.

officials. It was self explanatory.
