''leeting was called. to order by John Anderson at 5:43 pm.
Plerbers present: Joe Braun, "urge Lesnicl:, I'a}' Gretsch, Darwin Erickson, John
Anderson, Claudette ICleir. and Liaison Rob Loso.
tlember absent: Irma Lanier
Liaison report: A public hearing should be held at the April meeting to review the
Grant Proposal.
Meeting attendance times must he turned quarterly.
April 7_C and. 27 will be Clean-up curb side pick days.
The nark Commission has a bedget of $20,000 in the parl; development - capital outlay.
Bob is checking into getting a public telephone installed for emergencies ?which will
be located. on Birch Street and 1?igh?way 52 fold` between Monument, I~[emorial and
Centennial Parks. The estimated cost could be $3~ service charge and $7 for closure.
Bob may also get a cellular phone for the Summer P.ecreation and Skating rink use.
one satellite will be installed in Memorial Park in Apri_1.
The sign or posting miles will be bui]_t for Centennial Park soon.
Joe Bettendorf will make a sketch for all our. parks in the city. Joe suggested. that
tae have a specialist plant wild flowers in Morningisde Park.
New curbin; ?gill improve the looks of the parking lot in Itorningside Park.
Old. Business
Claudette Klein 11as chec~:ed. into some grant money from Stearns Electric Association
and they sent a form to her to be completed for a donation to Morningside Park as
all residents living there have this power company.
Babe Ruth league has ordered uniforms for-two teams.
Claudette and I•large will get folders ready for each park commission member for every
park in the city.
Joe Braun stated. that he would advertise for the Archery shoot again. Ne GTill Ue
responsible for the sign up, etc.
??ob Loso suggested that park members should be checking into fund-raising ideas.
Dew Business:
SprirG clean-up on April ?_S for parks. Joe Braun will advertise this project on
P?ark Twain Cablevision Channel O_'• and also in the ?lewsleader.
The :trees are growing that Caere planted last year in iiorningside park.
