JOSEPH PARK BOARD 1VIINUTE5 ~ St. Joseph, MN. 56374 ~~-' Minutes from the March 19,2002 Members Present Brace Berghorst, Lonnie Abbot, Marge Lesnick, John Waltz, Jennifer Win and Chuck Muske. Guest: Ernie Diedrich. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Jennifer, seconded by Marge. Passed Approval of Minutes: It was pointed out that council was spelled incorrectly. John said he was sorry. Minutes were approved as amended. Motion by Bruce, seconded by Marge. Motion to aceept passed. Chairman's Comment's: Lonnie introduced Ernie Diedrich. Ernie is representing the HQ' Board and Tree planting comnnittee. Their plans are. 1) Ensure tree-planting event for Arbor Day. 2) Make Saint Joe a "Tree City" Initial designation # dollars dedicated to Planting tree's in the city. 3) Urban Forrester has been contacted for recommendation. This would also include a tree board. for selection and planting of said trees. v has The Saint Old Business: Town Gown Softball Tournament.Kyle reported that advertising begun- John's senate approved the fees for the student's. There are trying for l6 Teams.Kyle Is working on getting Umpires for this. Centennial park: Shelter remodel project is on hold due to the weather. Probable estimate will be about 30,000 dollars. Will be budgeted next year Northland Pazk: Sign Design, Lonnie showed u5 a nice sketch. Kyle will get an estimate from Toe Phannenstein State Softball Tournament: This will be 3uly 25th thru the 28th. A Motion was made to hold the reserve aloe campgrounds for this event. Motion made by Bruce and seconded by Marge to reserve the campground. Motion passed. Chuck suggested that we rope off an azea for tents only. Possible to use the soccer fields if needed. Kyle had a~t of Idea's. Motion made by Marge and seconded by Bruce to reserve Millstream Park if available. Motion Passed. Lonnie said someone approached him about putting a pop machine down at Memorial Park. Lonnie said he would check with Judy about any liability problem Lonnie will get the measurement's for the basketball court at Northland. ~; Meeting Adjourned: About 8:30. Submitted By: Chuck Muske.
