Members present: Kurt. Schneider, Linda Viehauser, Sr.
Kathleen Kalinowski, Dan Nierengarten, Ken Hieminz. Hub Klein
was absent due to being hospitalized.

Sr. Kathleen, acting cha i ¡'man, ca 11 ed the meeting to order.
Ken Heimenz made a motion to ~tpprove the March 4, 1991
minutes.
Second: Nierengarten
Ayes: Schneider, Viehauser, Kal inowski,
Nierengarten, Hiemenz.
Nayes: None. Mot.ion passed 5 to O.
Fred Sandal from St Cloud APO discussed the St Joseph
township trans porta I. i un plan and land use element. He asked
for the commissions l'esponse.
After listening to Sanda I ' s F'resentation, the commission
suggested that as a way to facilitate planning and
understanding; an overlay map of the land use areas, severe
soils and wetlands area, and tra,nsportation plan should be
drawn up,
Sidewalk District: Sr. Kathleen stated that the counc i 1 is
asking the commission to priorit.ize and identify the pub 1 i c
safety sidewalk areas. The commission members should
identify those areas and discuss them at the next meeting.
Fence a,nd Type Al IO\oJed in Various Zones. As the zoning
ordinance is vague on definition of what constitutes a fence,
the coune i I is seeking a definition from the planning
commission. Sr Kathleen asked tha t pages 113, I 14 and 98 of
the zoning ordinance be copied and given to the new members
of the commission. The definition wi 11 be further discussed
at the May meeting.
New Business. Diane Schneider appeared before the commission
with a preliminary plan seeking to add a 60 ft. addition to
the North end of Sa I' s ba r.
The commission instructed her to return with a proposal
that would de ta i J pa. r kin g areas.
Dale Salo submitted a pre I i m i n a l' Y platting for a housing
development East of Cloverdale Estates 3rd. , 4th. , and 5th. ,
Addition. There are about 29 acres and 80 new lols in the
p I at. He intends on asking the counc i I to annex the propert·y
and seek R-1 Single f am i I y zoning.
~I The commission discussed what type of housing Salo would
erect and the probability that annexation would not occur.
The meeting was adjourned.
