HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009 [01] Jan 26St. Joseph Park Board Minutes from meeting: January 26, 2009 City Hall, 7:00 p.m. Members present: Bruce Berghorst, Lonnie Abbott, Marge Lesnick, Alison Brown Bell, Cory Ehlert, City Liason -Renee Symanietz, City Staff -Terry Thene and Lori Bartlett Call to order: 7:00 p.m. Approval of minutes: Motion to approve the minutes with no changes -Berghorst, Lesnick seconded. Motion approved. Approval of agenda: Motion toapprove -Lesnick, Bell seconded. Motion approved. Board Appointee's: New Park Board member - We are currently looking for a new member to replace Chuck Muske. Dick Taufen, former city maintenance director was suggested as a possibility. Park Board Secretary -Alison Brown Bell volunteered to replace Chuck Muske as secretary. Approval of Treasurer's report: Motion toapprove -Berghorst, Lesnick seconded. Motion approved. Capital Improvement Plan: New master park plan - can we put it online? Existing park equipment in storage for Northland Park-we need to get the playground equipment installed. There was discussion as to whether we should put it in Northland Parkas planned or put it in to improve Centennial Park. It was decided to install it in Northland Park as originally promised. Centennial Park -Ehlert and Berghorst will put together a formal request for the'/: cent sales tax committee requesting $30,000 for playground equipment and improvement. We feel the park has regional significance due to the number of people renting and using the facilities. Symanietz will report next month with prices on fill material. Millstream Park: We received a quote to dredge the pond at Millstream Park. It was $12,000. The project has been put on hold. Liaison and Staff notes: Do we need to meet every month? To help keep cost down, Terry Thene will continue to be our staff liaison and Lori Bartlett will attend only for budgeting purposes. It was decided we would meet again in February, but every other month or as needed after that. Motion to adjourn -Abbott, Berghorst seconded - 8:45 p.m.
