Minutes from April 28, 2008
Members Present: Cory Ehlert, Bruce Berghorst, Chuck Muske, Alison Brown Bell, Missing Marge Lesnick.
Missing Lonnie Abbot.
Liaison: Al Rassier, Dale Wick, Steven Frank, Rick Schultz, Lori Bartlett, Renee Symanietz and new City
Works Director Terry Thene.
Call to Order: 7:00 p.m.
Approval of Agenda: Marge motioned to approve, Cory seconded. Motion approved.
Approval of Minutes: Motioned by Marge and seconded by Bruce to approve. Motion Passed.
Joint Meeting Council and Park Board: We had a meeting on April 8th at that meeting 3 companies gave
their proposals for Plan for our Parks Future. The Company's were SEH, Bonestroo, and Sanders Wacker
Bergly Inc. After they were done the Park Board and council discussed which way we should proceed. We had
Judy go back to two of the company's to get some clarification of there bid and time line.
At the start of this meeting Judy brought back the answers to this meeting after a good discussion it was agreed
that the council would have Judy contact SEH and tell them to get started.. Total Bid was 38000.00 dollars and
it would be completed in October. The Council was done after this and we continued with our meeting.
Treasurers Report: $57, 884 is total balance. Motion by Bruce, Second by Chuck.
Motion passed. It was also noted that Centra Care split some lot with Coborns.
Park Projects Review:
Northland Park: It was decided to hold off installing playground equipment until we receive out Park Plan from
SEH. We have no new developments starting we need hold off starting new projects until it we see some
movement.
Liaison Report: Renee reported that Steve Danielson contacted her on an Eagle Scout project he was involved
in. He wants to install 8 cement garbage cans that he arranged to have donated to the city of St. Joe. Terry said
he would contact Steve and help him out.
Citizens that we are having trouble in our Parks with people not picking up after their dogs also brought it up. It
was decided to have Terry check into having signs made to remind Dog Owners of their duty.
