FROM: STEARNS COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
A request for a conditional use permit has been submitted by Great River Energy (GRE),
Maple Grove, MN. according to Sections 4.8 and 7.6 of Stearns County Land Use and Zoning
Ordinance #209, to rebuild approximately 0.4 miles of existing 69 kilovolt(kV) transmission line
to upgrade to 115 kV, modify the existing LeSauk 69 kV substation to upgrade to 115 kV and
build two miles of new 115 kV transmission line. The proposed project is located along County
Road 133 and 320th Street in Sections 1 and 2 of St. Joseph Township (124/29), Sections 25
and 36 of St. Wendel Township (125/29) and Section 30 of LeSauk Township (125/28).
A public hearing regarding this conditional use permit application will be held by the Stearns
County Planning Commission on Thursday, June 18, 2009 beginning at 7:00 p.m. (Item 2) in
County Board Room #109 of the County Administration Center, 705 Courthouse Square, St.
Cloud, MN. You may submit testimony by appearing at the above hearing or by submitting
written testimony prior to the hearing date. Written testimony may be submitted to the Stearns
County Environmental Services Department, Administration Center, Rm 343, 705 Courthouse
Square, St. Cloud, MN 56303.
A copy of the request is on file in the Environmental Services Department Office, Rm 343 of the
County Administration Center, and is available for review during normal business hours.
Attendance at the hearing regarding the application is not limited to those persons receiving
copies of this notice. If you know of any interested property owner, who for any reason has not
received a copy of this notice, it would be appreciated if you would inform them of this public
hearing.
