BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The rental housing license period is coming to a close. The Ordinance
requires property to be licensed by August 15 of each calendar year. If the license process is not
completed the property owner cannot lease the property until completion. The properties that have
made application for a rental license are only in violation if they continue to rent without a permit.
The staff is in the process of compiling a report for the Council and that will be presented to the Council
during the meeting.
