There were 185 incident reports for the month of September. This compares with 287 incidents in 2008 and 22 incidents in 2007. This was an interesting month as far as calls for service. We spent a large amount of time on investigations dealing with assaults and abuse. Some of these cases took more than forty plus (40 +) hours of investigator time. Due to the rain and cold weather our calls for service dealing with student activity was down. Homecoming this year was uneventful compared to last year. We did not have the issues of damage to property and other complaints that we had in 2008. All in all the officers worked hard to stay on top of things and stay proactive. Our next event will be the SJU vs. St. Thomas football game. This game is a well attended game and usually very busy for us. Officers will be training in the next month on use of force, handcuffing and takedowns. We will also be doing our annual weapons training in low light situations.
