Minutes approved without changes. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Bruce, seconded by Lonnie. Agenda approved. Treasurers Report: No Treasurers Report Capital Improvement Plan—Centennial Park The Board again discussed changing the playground layout of the new equipment and border/fall area for Centennial Park. We are still waiting for a revised playground layout plan from the playground equipment vendor(s). We did not receive new plans from the vendor at the time of the meeting. We had requested changes to the boarder. The new boarder would be approximately 40’ x 82’, 3280 sq. ft. Terry recommended that we purchase enough engineered wood chips for 3500 sq. ft. so there would be extra for future fill-in needs. We also requested that the new boarder material be removed from the revised quote as we will utilize existing board material. Capital Improvement Plan – 2010 The Board reviewed the final changes Park Board Capital Improvement plan on the CIP data sheets. Liaison and Staff Notes Renee stated that she would check with some sources to see what it would take to make repairs to the monument platform and if we are responsible for repairs or the State. Renee also discussed installing steps/walk-way leading up to the monument and that she knows someone who would be interested in that work. Terry stated that we should consider adding trees in Centennial Park once the new playground is installed. Terry also talked about how the fence around Centennial is being damaged by people jumping into it and springing back out. Terry has submitted a claim to the insurance company for repairs to the fence but the Park Board needs to fund the cost of cross-beams in the fence to avoid future damage. Terry stated that the Lion’s Club is looking at some projects for the upcoming year and listed some possibilities: replacing the roof on the Millstream shelter, benches along College Ave. S. by the cemeteries, and additional street signs. Finally Terry stated that he was working on getting some Sentenced-to-Serve workers to help with some projects around the City: painting the bleachers at the softball fields, painting the restrooms at Millstream, etc. Next meeting: City Hall—Monday, January 25, 2010 at 7 PM Motion to adjourn by Bruce. Seconded by Lonnie. Meeting Adjourned Submitted by Bruce A. Berghorst Bruce A. Berghorst
