BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Fire Board has typically authorized two members to attend the
State Fire Convention. This year the conference is June 10 —12 in Grand Rapids. Along with the Fire
Department's Relief Assoc., we have been offering to send up to four members to this convention for
the past 20+ years. It is a good opportunity for members to get new or more advanced training. It also
gives them a chance to talk to other departments to see how they handle some of their emergencies. It
not only helps the members that attend the convergence, but it also helps the entire department.
When they return, they give a report of what they learned and also help train the others what they were
taught.
BUDGET /FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of two members' Per -Diem, Hotel, classes, meals, and mileage.
ATTACHMENTS: Have not received any yet.
REQUESTED ACTION: Have the Fire Board approve to send two members to State Fire Convention.
