RE: Downtown Land /Streetscaping
Background:
The EDA/staff continue to promote downtown redevelopment. As you recall, land -
streetscape planning is underway as commissioned by the EDA. Goals of the planning
(and eventual construction) are to be the following areas together with meaningful visual
linkages: Wobegon Trail Center, College Avenue, Minnesota Street, and Minnesota Street
to the west toward new CSAH 2 area.
Randy Schmitz and Clarissa Cooper from Scenic Specialties have developed "themes" to
tie the design work together as well as target 9 -10 areas where design work could be done
to connect the downtown and the Wobegon Trail. Schmitz and Cooper will present
conceptual ideas to the EDA at the February 24"' meeting. Schmitz and Cooper are
requesting input from the EDA Hoard prior to creating a more detailed final design.
Action:
This item is for your information. The EDA is asked to provide direction to Scenic
Specialties relative to downtown street/landscaping.
